Remember that fabric stack I shared the other day? Well I couldn’t resist sewing something for myself. I was actually very proud of myself that I even cut into this fabric so soon after purchase! See, I have this strange habit, if you want to call it that, of collecting fabric and not wanting to cut into it because it is just so perfect the way it is. I could stare at the beautiful color combinations and how the designer placed the pattern just so on the fabric. I guess I have this fear of ruining an amazing piece of art. Though I know that that’s silly because I, in my own right, am making an amazing piece of art when I use it to create something. Right? Isn’t it funny how our mind works and how much power your thinking has over you when you give it control?
But this is a NEW year, and I am making some changes. So, here I am sharing a couple pieces I created. Hope you enjoy!
This picture above is a wallet/pouch that has a zipper closure on top with two small pockets inside. I love this pouch because it will hold anything that I don’t want rolling around loose in my purse. I can put my make-up or phone and keys inside, and there’s still plenty of room. And of course, it includes a gather on the outside.
This second picture is a purse that I adapted from another one of my bags. It is still a work in progress, though, because I need to tweak some of the measurements to get it just the way I like it . I don’t know about you, but a must for any bag I buy is an inside zipper pocket, and I feel like my purse isn’t complete without it. And just for fun I decided to add a cute rose button as a closure above the gathered front.
Thanks for stopping by! Check back again soon as I make more items with my fabric stash.
I love to sew! Your designs are so cute and fresh…you are giving me that “itch” to get my sewing machine up and running!
That purse is so cute! Love the rose button, too.
